The realist spent all of November in Germany and Australia and so sadly neglected updating this site.  As he works through the material new updates will appear in the main sections.  In the “real world” of NY/NJ  temperatures are dropping, the wind is howling, air sealing is a hot topic (“hot” – get it?? groan…) and the president is off to Copenhagen.

Some quick highlights of November:

The Olbrich energy efficient house is in architect and energy planning stages.  However solar panels are already on the roof of an outbuilding and feeding power back into the grid – even on heavily overcast days.

In Australia the Rowell house has started with the foundation slab and a massive rock wall, plus rain water tank in place.  (picture here)
